n the middle of December, head coach Jimmy Alapag, Gilas Pilipinas member Bobby Ray Parks Jr., former NBA player Ivan Johnson and the Filipino ABL team Tanduay Alab Pilipina will arrive in Changhua, Taiwan. 2017 PBA number one draft pick Christian Standhardinger will also arrive with Hong Kong Eastern Basketball Team as well.

On the weekends,basketball fans will have the best chance to cheer up for Filipino basketball on consecutive days! On Dec.16 Saturday, Tanduay Alab Pilipina will play against Formosa Dreamers in their home court opener. Dec.17 Sunday, Dreamers will face Standhardinger and the Hong Kong Eastern Basketball Team. Both games will be hosted at Changhua County Stadium.

Tanduay Alab Pilipina is entering the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) for the second consecutive year. Last year, they recorded 11 wins and 9 losses and finished 3rd place in the regular season. They were eliminated in the opening round of ABL playoffs by Hong Kong Eastern who is the champion last year.

First year, Coach Jimmy Alapag is a legend of Filipino basketball. He won six times PBA championships, PBA Most Valuable Player, twice Finals MVP and eleven times PBA All-Star. He also represented the Filipino national team to join the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. represented Gilas Pilipinas from 2011 to 2017, and he won 2015 SEABA Championship gold medal and three times Southeast Asian Games gold medals. He was 2015 SEABA Championship tournament MVP and 2017 ABL local MVP.

Christian Standhardinger is a Filipino German professional basketball player and he is a member of 2017 Southeast Asian Games gold medal Gilas Pilipinas team, too. He was drafted number one pick by the PBA team San Miguel Beermen this year; however, he will play for Hong Kong Eastern Basketball Team this season.
